Statement of Faith

I believe in the only God of the universe, heaven and heaven of heavens as revealed through the Bible.
I believe in the creation of the pre-incarnate Jesus and His existence before the birth, which brought Him to earth through Mary.
I believe God indwells Jesus with His very spirit.
I believe in the person of the Holy Spirit and that he is our teacher, guide and reveals God’s truths.
I believe in Jesus as the risen Saviour, His shed blood for our atonement, and His resurrection for our justification.
I believe salvation is a free gift of God available to everyone who asks, and believe that predestination is based on God’s foreknowledge.
I believe we are eternally secure only if we stay with the Lord. Apostasy opens us up for a fall from grace and our name being blotted out of the book of life.
I believe that 1 John 1:9 is the method used to clear away the dross of apostasy and sin that can lead to our downfall. It is for the maintenance of our salvation - not through an act of works but an act of faith through prayer.
I don’t believe in the pre-tribulation rapture but believe His elect will be protected from that hour in lands of “Goshen” scattered all around the world. Luke 21:36.
I don’t believe in using “pictures of Jesus” to testify to our faith.
I don’t celebrate Christmas, Easter, or Halloween because of their pagan past and the main fact that many of the elements of these holidays were practiced thousands of years before Christ was born. And we were never instructed to do so.
I believe in personal and group study of the Bible as the second foundation of the local church, Christ being the first.
I believe the 7th Day, (as Hallowed by God in Genesis 2:2-3, before it was introduced to the Law) should be our formal day of rest.
I don’t support the use of the name “Reverend” to describe men and women of God.
I believe in separation of church and state and don’t support the tax-exempt status of churches.

THE APOSTLES’ CREED
From the songbook
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of the heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

My version
I believe in God the Father Almighty, And in Jesus Christ, co-creator and maker of the heaven and earth; His only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died (Dismissed His spirit), and was buried; He descended into hell (the heart of the earth) and after three days and three nights, He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; and some day in the future He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church (the body of believers), the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
